Dr. Carlos Zerrweck López, President of the CMCOEM – Mexican College of Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases 2025-2027. Trained as a general surgeon at Universidad La Salle and specialized in general and laparoscopic surgery, completing his specialization at ABC Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Zerrweck López is certified by the Mexican Board of General Surgery and is an international member of the ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery). He is also a member of the French and Francophone Society of Obesity and Metabolic Disease Surgery (SOFFCO), an active member of the Mexican College of Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases, a member of IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity & Metabolic Disorders), the International Society of Surgery, and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He completed the "Surgery for Obesity and Endocrine Disorders" program at the University of Lille 2 in France, which was carried out at Claude Huriez Hospital of the Lille University Hospital Center. He is currently the lead professor for the advanced specialty medical course in Bariatric Surgery, endorsed by UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). In addition to his extensive experience and career, he has authored various articles in prestigious national and international medical journals. He has also been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences focused on the surgical management of obesity, as well as appearing on national television and radio programs. Dr. Carlos Zerrweck is currently the director of the Clinic for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders.
